Maldon (Essex) Mind is a Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee, Affiliated to National Mind but not funded by it.

Founded in 1974, our statement of purpose is:-

"To provide a wide range of caring support for individuals with mental health needs wherever and whenever it is needed within Mid Essex and to raise positive public awareness of mental health issues and campaign for better mental health services"

 

Projects

We run nine projects in Maldon District and Mid-Essex

    Blackwater Task Force - a daily work scheme for people with mental health needs and learning disabilities.

    BroSis     - a mentoring scheme for young people for 13-18 year olds in the Maldon district.

    Body & Mind     - in partnership with Maldon District Council - linking good physical and mental health .

    CheeRing     - Bringing friendship right to your home

    CRESS     - supporting carers of elderly seriously mentally ill people at home

    MAP-ME     - giving trained advocacy help to service users and carers.

    NERIL     - the telephone helpline for people in mental distress and their carers.

    Network     - providing social groups and activities to fight isolation in Maldon and the Dengie.

    Weekenders - providing activities to fight isolation at the weekend
